REBECCA BOUCHER - WOMAN IN HORROR!

http://www.amazon.com/Rebecca-Boucher/e/B00DGUXDDM

http://beccab8.blogspot.com/

Rebecca Boucher is my Woman In Horror today! Her first novel Hunting The Moon (The Moon Series) is a super tale of cutting, ghosts, and ancient Celtic lore. Rebecca adds in some some local Massachusetts lore and locale too.

Quinn Cullen, another one of my great Women In Horror, introduced us, and now I am proud to say Rebecca is one of my friends. Rebecca, Quinn, and I will all be sharing pages in the anthology From Dusk To Dawn to be published by Visionary Press Collaborative. There are many great authors besides us in this. It is a romance anthology, but don't be expecting Harlequin. My story certainly isn't.

From Rebecca:

"Rebecca Boucher was born and raised in Worcester Massachusetts. Her father instilled an early love of reading in her and encouraged her when she started to write. Rebecca earned a degree in Criminal Justice from Quinsigamond Community College, but her love has always been writing. After the birth of her first child, she moved to a quiet little town on the edge of Worcester County, in the heart of Central Massachusetts. Living there has inspired her to write most of her current projects. In fact, local readers might recognize some of her locations. Currently, Rebecca is a freelance writer and blogger. Her first novel is Hunting the Moon (The Moon Series). Rebecca is also the Write More Publications blog tour coordinator and an avid Beta reader. When she is not writing, Rebecca is the mother of two boys, ages 10 and 13. Her youngest son was diagnosed in the Autism spectrum, and a lot of her volunteer time is spent raising awareness and promoting education for that cause."

BLAZE MCROB'S CHOICE FOR AUTHOR OF 2014 GOES TO REBECCA BOUCHER!

My choice for Author Of 2014 was a very simple one. Rebecca Boucher wins it hands down! Her superb book The Shadow Soldier is destined to be a classic. This is a Military/Romance/Ghost story that will tug at your heart. Read the reviews below and you will see what I mean. And to make it even better, Rebecca is donating all of her royalties to the Wounded Warrior Project.

The Shadow Soldier appeals to women as well as men. There is no separation of gender when it comes to a story such as this. War affects all of us, and in this ever-changing world of ours, many times the husband stays home with the children while his wife serves. There are many scenarios which can play out in one's mind. Rebecca does a masterful job of showing a woman waiting anxiously for her man to return, and the magic of her prose is evident when she so accurately portrays what goes through the mind of her lover as he does his best under trying circumstances on the war front.

Every reader will be caught up in what happens. Veterans will feel the angst of battle, and others will experience the pain of waiting, hoping beyond hope that all works out for the best.

This is a book for everyone!

The Shadow Soldier By Becca Boucher
Synopsis: When a soldier is lost in the snowy mountains of Afghanistan, another soldier shoulders the blame, while a young woman feels his loss thousands of miles away in Boston's Back Bay. Can a mysterious man bridge the gap and help the two heal?
My Review: With Veteran's day around the corner, I cannot think of a better book to read! Ms Boucher takes us through the Love, The sacrifices, The loyalty , The Bravery and The deepest feelings of an Army Ranger in Afghanistan , His Girlfriend, his best friend and a "Shadow Soldier" who is the guiding hand in this story. It is very fast paced , action packed and sometimes devastating... yes I cried.. It is such a touching story of what our Soldiers go through and what the people left behind must face. VERY well written I give this Book 5 Beers and a coke... (I changed it a little but read the book and you'll see)

Not the first book offered to us by this author and certainly not the last. Great read, I loved how easily she wove the story together and made me feel the words. How the courage and the tears just flowed off the pages. A wonderful display of ability and deep regard for those who serve.

Heroes: a person who is admired for great or brave acts or fine qualities. Rebecca Boucher seems to have a flair for writing stories about our military heroes and The Shadow Soldier is no exception. Add a little paranormal in the mix and you have one awesome short story. I've never been in the military, never had a brother or sister serve, so I can't feel the angst that comes with having to say goodbye to a loved one and travel overseas to protect our rights or to help others protect theirs. Rebecca is spot on with this story. Dread, grief, and a little bit of happiness prevail in The Shadow Soldier. I seriously wonder how many of our brothers and sisters truly have a Shadow Soldier walking with them? Rebecca makes it seem as though they all do. Well done, Rebecca, well done. Oh, and I learned also that all proceeds of this sale are going to the Wounded Warrior Project.

5.0 out of 5 stars Beautiful story December 17, 2014

What a beautiful story. The author wrote this as if she were actually in the action, in Kabul, or there, with Megan in her home. Very touching also. I definitely recommend this short story.

5.0 out of 5 stars wow, just wow. November 11, 2014

Okay, I'll admit it. I cried. A lot. The Shadow Soldier is a well written, fast paced story that hits home. I know from experience what it feels like to be afraid your soldier isn't coming home, and this story hits that nail on the head. There are no further words for how I can explain this, or review it, and to me at least that is the best possible review I can give, when a story leaves you speechless and utterly wordless, you know it's good.

Well done Becca, well done.

4.0 out of 5 stars A good short read May 26, 2014

I enjoyed reading this tale. I think the author did a fine job balancing between narrative and conversation, and it follows a good arc without bogging down. I confess that as a veteran, myself, I have a soft spot in my heart for tales of this nature, but I'd be glad to read more of this author's work.

This short Story is 17 pages and PERFECT Read for Memorial Day! It did have me in tears. Becca Boucher is able to convey the TRUE meaning of This Day with her Story of Rachel, her Father, Wayne who served in Vietnam and Blake a soldier who just buried a friend a fellow solder, Bob. It all takes place at the Vietnam War Memorial which I have been Blessed enough to visit and find the name of a Friend who died in that war. I Highly recommend this Story ..I give it 5 American Stars.. VERY well done Ms Boucher!!

Armand Rosamilia is spearheading his The Authors Supporting Our Troops program. A number of copies of The Shadow Soldier will find their way overseas to the troops. This does double duty as far as spreading warmth. The troops get to read this great book for free and, since the proceeds go to the Wounded Warrior Project, this great organization will receive the money. I will purchase the books, send them to Rebecca to autograph, and we send them to Armand.

Also, loved ones on the Home Front will not be forgotten. I have plans to distribute this great book to folks at the VA free, as well as various organizations around town that help spouses and family members when their loved ones are deployed. Once again, I will purchase these books so the Wounded Warrior Project receives their money.

As many of you know, I am a Vietnam Veteran. Thus, how could I not be moved by the great short story Panel 35 that Rebecca wrote for Memorial Day? I shelved plans to write one of my own because there was no way I could have come close to the majesty of this story. Rebecca so accurately tells a story of a young woman's love for her father, and his love for her. This is an enduring story that goes well beyond the horrors of the Vietnam War.

It is phenomenal that an author can write two such moving stories in the same year. Rebecca Boucher deserves the title of Author Of 2014!

Rebecca can write great horror and is able to incorporate real-life horror into her tales. Like I said above, being a Veteran myself, I understand the angst her protagonists suffer in her military stories. And, I love her portrayal of contemporary horror as well. This lady can do it all!

Also, she is one of my personal editors and has worked on other editing projects with me. She has other editing credits and cover art as well as formatting credits for a number of great books.

Is there any doubt?

Rebecca Boucher is a Woman In Horror!
